Food pairing: Roast lamb
On the nose, very little. Main scent is alcohol, not because the wine is overly alcoholic (though at 14.5%, it's by no means weak), but simply because there's little else. I caught scents of stewing damsons - reminding me of the fruit wine my grandad used to make. On the palate, again closed. Interesting, pleasurable and generally quite good.
With food, the flavours come out more. I had this with roast lamb. Good amount of acidity to cut through the fat.
Tasty. One to think about.
