Food pairing: An excellent foil for grilled meats, especially beef, and assertive enough to stand up to rubs and sauces.
A firm, tightly structured and powerful wine with a character that is a signature for this vineyard, even though the ratio of the blend changes from year to year. This is my 12th vintage of Geyserville that I've drunk on release and based on how earlier vintages have morphed into something more akin to a Rhone blend than a Zinfandel-based blend, I'm looking forward to revisiting it in a few years.
