Food pairing:
The primitivo grape is the same as the American zinfandel. Same characteristics but this italian made gem is full of complexity. Jammy blueberry, cherry, raspberry, blackberry with notes of tarragon, anise, cassis, pencil lead, and white pepper all in a very refined package. Gets more jammy as it opens. Fruit is outstanding for an italian wine.
