Top Albariños are just getting better and better. The variety is treated with more respect and passion in Rías Baixas every year, resulting in better and better wines. This is an exceptionally interesting Albariño. The nose is an instant hit of lively, zingy citrus fruit and an exciting background of spice (perhaps nutmeg). Nora de Neve possesses a precisely calibrated balance between fruit, acidity and oak, and the finish beautifully expresses a touch of quince, fennel, and other subtler floral and herbal qualities. A few more Albariños like these and the variety will need to be taken much more seriously by critics outside of Spain. Just a modest opinion!
