Food pairing: Pasta.
The last of my rather disappointing New Zealand "series". Clean, bright ruby colour, followed by a fine, forward nose of cassis, crushed rocks and tar, leading to a chewy, jammy palate resonant with forest fruit, nicely held together by slight acidity and firm tannins. Interesting wine? No - just satisfying and simple.
