Food pairing: Japanese Carrot Salad
The wine itself offered a delightful pale rose-petal colour and a lightly perfumed nose of red fruits. While the palate could be described as 'refreshing' I found too acidic and quite tart on the finish. They should have left it a little off-dry to counter the aggressiveness.
The flavours are quite delicate and floundered against the food. The slight sweetness in the sauce emphasised the acidity in the wine. It wasn't a good match at all but then it wasn't a great wine to start with. Expensive for what it offered.
