bold complex crushed fruit huge minerals port-like powerful seductive sinuous tar
Luxury wine made by Chris Ringland, the Australian oenologist. Alcohol b.v. 15.5%. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Monastrell.

Displays a deep, dark, inky, bright and clean cherry colour. Soaring from the glass is a gorgeous, complex port-like aroma of crushed blue and red fruit, tar and minerals. The taste is extraordinary: waves of sensational, huge fruit and spice (nutmeg, cumin), held together with impeccable structural elegance. El Nido is a bold, sinuous wine of real seductive power.

You need to actually chew to properly experience this wine. You'll also need to fork out more than £100. Jay Miller's 99 points for the 2004 are very generous. I think we need to give it more time. It could become a legendary 99-point wine if it evolves in the next 15-20 years, but in my view it's too early to say.
